~ Art ~
I have people tell me every once in a while, " I am no artist".
I believe everyone is an artist in one form or another!.
What is the definition of Art? Looking it up on google and the internet, I find
" skill acquired by work, study or observation". Among other definitions I find,
" something created with imagination that expresses ideas or emotions". And,
following the definitions, we are served with explanations of the definitions!
I have a lot to say about " art " and some of you know I have been using the
term "the art of 70" quite often this year. Incorporating it into these Blogs.
And, through the year as I drew nearer to the age of 70, I firmly came to
believe that there is an art to becoming 70; and art to arriving at 70; and an
art to living....... 70.
When I began this Blog, "One Artist's Journey" several years ago; and,
really pretty much up until earlier this year it encompassed my art
as a mixed media artist..
, Then the calling became real - thus, my book "The Art Of 70 Shirley A. McElhaney"
It is now available at Amazon.com.
Yesterday, I wrote a comment on a posting of another person who had reposted,
"Lessons Learned In Life" and referred to my turning 70 in July and
in a couple of words my view of life = the immediate and urgency of each day.
Yet, is rather like starting new - a new decade of adventures.
Well, at last count, what I said ~ had drawn 1 17 comments. I was surprised
at the large number of people who were interested in my message.
I am going to be writing more about my views at this stage of the game -
I am unsure if I will write that Blog here at my website - or start a completely new
Blog.
After all . . . it is my art however I decide to express it!
