"Foot Prints On The Path" "There is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path " ~ Morpheus ~ This quote seemed so right after I read it this morning. Everyone leaves foot prints on their path - but if visible or invisible.. . . . . . . All of us on are some path - the path begins when we are born. This morning, I saw foot prints left by the Fed Ex fellow; when I fed the birds I saw little bird prints, and raccoon foot prints; deer and opossum . . . . and even my own. And, as the quotes says . . . knowing our path - where we are going each day or each'' year can be much different than walking that path. The path goes up hill, down hills, rounds curves; and we continue on life's path . The foot prints that we leave are always there . . . telling the story of where we have been and where we are going . My foot prints, this morning. after feeding the birds and drinking in the beauty of the morning lead to my studio. Now, today's journey _ may be an easy and creative and fruitful day; or it may be a day of " artistic block" . Where ever your path leads you today, I wish for you knowing where or what you want to do today, leaves a path of foot prints that bring you joy. Dreaming Italy and other things..... Finally, after over a month,, time in my studio and to do a Blog. New planting and lawn work, opening my little summer place, and 4 family graduations and Open Houses. Two down and two to go. This piece is a collage that was really fun to create and turned out to be something completely different from which it started. The little hotel box, was given to me by one of my girlfriends. It was in a little bag of other bottles, etc from their hotel in Assisi. She said, "I know you will find a place for these in your art. So, thank you, my friend, Gera;ldine Mary! The collage its self is post card size and mounted on 8"x10" mounting board. It will be mailed tomorrow for The National Collage Society Annual Post Card Exhibit. This year, the exhibit will be open at The Downtown Gallery, School Of Art,, Kent, Ohio. If you are in the area it is worth seeing. ~~Ciao ~~ INAUGURAL ART AND WINE RETREAT

It is a medium that uses melted wax and can be applied or moved by various means such as brushes, heat guns, torches, pallet knives, ............... or really anything the artist chooses to initiate into the process. The art piece can be created with lots of texture, no texture with a very smooth surface or a combination of both. Mono printing is another technique used in the application of the wax and/or movement. In this particular piece of art I layered various colors of wax using a drip method, heat gun, blow dryer and sanding. The base on which this piece is created is on encaustic board. However, the art can be developed and the final piece of art completed on wood panel or sometimes I use rice paper or watercolor paper which is stabilized. Below you will my encaustic station or work table in my studio. There is another piece in process which I am hoping to complete tomorrow. Friday Evening Sunset This past Friday evening, I made it to my little summer place on Lake Erie. Sitting at my place - the view was awesome. What is it about sunsets that always brings calmness ... I have read somewhere that Lake Erie has the most beautiful sunsets in the world. I believe it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of the soul." ~~ Plato ~~ This little fellow has found a special spot in my studio - my Little Buddha Elephant is a birthday gift from a very, very dear friend and fellow artist. She is the person who drew me back into my art and studio after the passing of my husband. |
