" A Piece Of The World "
" A Piece Of The World " written by Christina Baker Kline.
What is your own piece of the world? Have you even ever thought about it?
And, just as life proves - things are not always as though they
first seem to be . . . . . .
"Christina's World " is a piece of art that I was attracted to the very
first time I saw a picture of it. I felt, even then, those many years ago that
there was as the saying goes.......more to the story.
And, have always had a secret "love affair" with the artist, Andrew Wyeth.
Before he passed away in 2009, I came so close to the opportunity of actually meeting him
in person, and now that is one of "those regrets". ( don't have many, but.... )
So, when I read a review of this book, I put in a pre-order and anxiously looked
forward to the release.
It is listed as a novel - but, is mixture of fact and fiction. As much as I loved reading
this book - and just could not stay away from it . . . . I do not believe it is a
story that would be enjoyed by all readers. If you are familiar with the painting,
"Christina's World" and the artist, Andrew Wyeth, then I believe you would enjoy it fully.
He and his wife summered in Cushings, Maine; and lived in Chaddsford, Pa. the
remaining part of the year.
The book is delightful in some ways, sad and informative, reflective and
a sort of a love story - of romance and of a time in America.
And, great passion.
