Last week. good friend and fellow artist, Sandy Shelenberger, and I had the marvelous opportunity to attend the exhibit of contemporary artist, Ludmila Pawlowska at The Cathedral Of St. Paul in Erie, Pa.
As a note, we were given permission to take photos of the 135 piece exhibit.
She was born in kazakhstan and now resides in Sweden. Her art has been influenced by the color
and symbolism of Russian Iconography. Her 2 & 3 demensional pieces encompass a huge range of sizes. The structures are made up of multi-media -
wax, metal, wood, paper, glass among other materials.
She titles pieces as "The Face Is Looking At You"
or "Letter To You" ..... all leaves the interpretation
to the viewer.
We were absolutely facinated by her work and feel
so very lucky for the opportunity of seeing the exhibit as it travels around the world. To find out more about the artist and her work, go to: www.ludmilapawlowska.com
Another page of this Blog follows with some pictures of the exhibit. ~~ Ciao
