"THE GATHERING PLACE EXHIBIT"
As a part of Focus Fiber 2011-2012, I along with 2 other artists exhited our work in an exhibit titled "Expressions In Mixed Media". Our art was on exhibit at The Gathering Place in Westlake, Ohio, from January 6, - April 1, 2012.
I was honored to have my art in their Gallery. The Gathering Place provides educational and supportive services to cancer patients, family and loved ones including care givers and children. As soon as you enter the doors you hear the sound of a small fountain and the soft sounds of flute and harp.
The Gathering Place surrounds you with a zen atmosphere and among the individual and group services provides the Art of Healing which includes meditation, massage, reiki and reflexology.
Each of us had approximately 13 pieces of our work on display and included book art, encaustics, collage, silk and acrylic work, hand made paper, art quilting and watercolor.
Yesterday, my very dear friend and artist, Sandy, and I took down the exhibit. It is never quite as much fun dismanteling an exhibit as it is hanging the exhibit - as many of you understand.
But, it is with many thanks that we were able to exhibit our work at The Gathering Place and happy to know that even if one of our pieces touched someone's heart and soul - if it made someone happy even for a moment - that is what it is all about.
